The name Hasenkopf is not an independent variety, but serves as a common name for a group of apple varieties, which include Finkenwerder Herbstprinz and Echter Prinzenapfel. Trees of this type are characterized by vigorous or medium growth, forming a broad-rounded crown up to 4–6 meters in height.

Varieties of this group are characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases and pests. Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in October, consumer maturity — from November to March. The fruits are of medium or large size, conical or bell-shaped, with green skin and a red blush.

The flesh of the apples is yellowish-white, firm, juicy, possessing a sweet-and-sour taste with an aroma in which pineapple notes are sometimes present. The fruits have a universal purpose, being suitable both for fresh consumption and for culinary processing, including the preparation of juices and baking.
