The tree is distinguished by vigorous growth and the formation of a powerful crown. The fruits are medium to large in size and round-conical in shape. The skin is greenish-yellow with a bright orange-red blush, decorated with broad dark stripes and prominent lenticels. The flesh of the fruit is firm, juicy, and aromatic.
The variety is high-yielding and belongs to the category of autumn or late apples with harvest in September–October. The plant possesses moderate susceptibility to scab, while it may be prone to infection by powdery mildew and canker.
Apples of the Holsteiner Cox variety are valued as dessert fruit due to their harmonious taste with a slight acidity. They are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, as well as for the production of juices and cider.
