The Honeygold variety was obtained as a result of breeding using the parent forms Golden Delicious and Haralson. The tree is characterized by medium vigor, with height depending on the rootstock type. The crown has a conical shape and a tendency toward thickening.

The fruits are of the winter ripening group. The plant's winter hardiness is estimated at up to -33°C, depending on growing conditions. The variety is used in breeding work and scientific research on fruit quality.
