Variety description

A tree or tall multi-stemmed shrub 3–6 meters in height with a spreading, open crown up to 5 meters in diameter. Leaves are ovate, glossy, bronze-purple when unfolding, dark green in summer, and yellow-orange or reddish-brown in autumn.

Blooms in May with fragrant mauve-pink or lilac-purple flowers up to 4 cm in diameter. Fruits are spherical, small (about 2 cm), red or red-orange in color, edible and suitable for processing.

The variety has high winter hardiness (zones 3–7) and tolerates urban conditions well. A susceptibility to scab is noted.
