Variety description

10 August 2026

The fruit variety of Malus domestica "Karmen" was obtained by crossing the Prima and Wealthy tetraploid varieties. The tree is medium-sized, with a vertical, medium-density crown. The fruits are large, weighing 213–254 g, round-conical in shape with a bright carmine cover color; the flesh is creamy, firm, and juicy. The variety possesses genetic immunity to scab and high resistance to powdery mildew.

The decorative apple variety "Karmen" is a red-leaved form. The tree reaches a height of 4–6 meters, with an oval-spreading crown. The leaves are purple-red, later becoming dark green with a bronze tint. It blooms with bright pink or dark red flowers. The fruits are small, up to 60 g, suitable for processing. The variety is characterized by winter hardiness and drought tolerance.
