The variety originates from the Lavia municipality, where it was grown from seeds in the late 1880s. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and a wide crown, entering fruit-bearing 4–5 years after planting. The variety is a good pollinator.

Fruits are medium to large in size, flat-round in shape. The skin is thin but firm, yellow in color with a dark red overcolor, often covering almost the entire fruit. The flesh is dense, fine-grained, juicy, with a pleasant sweet-and-sour and spicy taste.

The harvest ripens in early September. The fruits have a short storage life of about several weeks. Due to high disease resistance, the variety is suitable for organic gardening.
