The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties «Wyken Pippin» and «Cox’s Orange Pippin». The tree is characterized by strong growth, a spreading crown, and brittle branches prone to breaking under heavy yields. Fruiting occurs on spurs; with age, a pronounced biennial bearing pattern appears.

Fruits are of medium size, greenish-yellow in color with a dark red or purple blush. The flesh is white or cream-colored. The variety is relatively resistant to powdery mildew and canker, but can be susceptible to scab. The harvest is collected in October; the fruits keep for two to three months.

Fruits are intended for fresh consumption and are also suitable for processing into juices and mousses. For a regular supply of high-quality yield, thinning of ovaries is recommended.
