Laxton's Superb is a late-maturing variety with medium to large fruits having yellow-green skin with an orange-red blush. The flesh is cream-white, juicy and aromatic, similar in taste to the Cox's Orange Pippin variety. The trees are characterized by good resistance to scab and powdery mildew, but are prone to biennial bearing.

Laxton's Fortune is an early-autumn variety with medium-sized fruits having pale yellow skin with a red blush and stripes. The flesh of the fruits is cream-white, sweet, crisp and juicy. The variety has a compact tree growth habit and good resistance to scab and powdery mildew.

Both varieties are partially self-fertile and require pollinator trees to obtain a stable yield. The height of the trees depends on the rootstock used, while the varieties themselves are for dessert use and are intended for fresh consumption or processing.
