The tree is noted for moderate vigor, forms a dense crown, and bears fruit mainly on spurs. The variety belongs to autumn cultivars; the harvest is gathered in October. The trees are prone to biennial bearing and are sensitive to fungal diseases and pests, while being best adapted to hilly terrain.

The fruits are medium-sized, spherical to flattened in shape, and often asymmetric. The skin is thick, matte, waxy, and yellow-green in color. The flesh is white, juicy, and has a sweet taste. A characteristic feature of the variety is vitrescence—natural glassiness of the flesh resembling ice, which gave the variety its name.
