The variety is a traditional local plant common in the Valle del Giovenco. Its cultivation history is linked to local horticulture and trade, which were actively conducted until the 1960s.
The fruits are characterized by external features similar to the Reinette variety, but they exceed them in dimensions. At present, the variety is considered primarily as an object for the conservation of genetic biodiversity and historical and cultural heritage.
