Variety description

10 August 2026

The rootstock belongs to the semi-dwarfing group, providing trees with moderately vigorous growth and a height of up to 5–6 meters. It is distinguished by high anchorage and a well-developed root system, thanks to which the trees are free-standing and do not require permanent support.

It possesses high resistance to woolly apple aphid and Phytophthora root rot, moderate resistance to fire blight, while being susceptible to powdery mildew. It is characterized by high drought tolerance and the ability to adapt to various soil types, including heavy and clay soils.

It promotes early entry of grafted cultivars into fruiting, usually in the 4–5th year after planting. There is a virus-indexed clone of the rootstock called EMLA 111.
