Trees of this variety are characterized by slow growth and form a large, dense, round crown, which is often drooping. The variety possesses high winter hardiness, prefers heavy moisture-retentive soils, and tolerates light sandy soils poorly.
The fruits are small, weighing 50–80 g, with a round, slightly flattened shape. Consumer maturity occurs in the winter period from December to April. The variety is considered versatile and is suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
Resistance of the variety to scab and powdery mildew is assessed as average. The historical variety is also known under the synonyms Edelborsdorfer, Borsdorfer, and Maschanzker.
