The variety is characterized by low chilling requirements, which ensures adaptation to the climate of Southern Brazil. The basis of the variety's resistance to scab is the presence of the Vf gene. The plant also exhibits high resistance to leaf spot, red spider mites, and bitter rot.

The fruits of the variety have a red-purple skin with a characteristic russeting, and possess high acidity and an increased content of phosphorus and calcium in the flesh. The variety is propagated by grafting onto various rootstocks, in particular M-9.
