The variety is a mutation of the Jonagold apple, obtained by crossing the Golden Delicious and Jonathan varieties. The tree is distinguished by strong growth vigor.

The fruits are large, weighing 170–220 g, with a round uniform shape. The flesh is yellow, firm and juicy, and possesses a harmonious sweet-and-sour taste. The surface of the fruits has deep red stripes and, overall, looks brighter than that of the base variety.

The variety belongs to the winter maturity group. Resistance to scab is medium, and to powdery mildew is low. The plant is susceptible to bitter pit and sunburn.
