The Nic 29 rootstock belongs to the M.9 group of clones and is classified as a full dwarf, yet it exhibits slightly greater vigor compared to other representatives of this type. It is intended for grafting apple varieties, promoting their precocity and rapid onset of fruiting in the second to third year after planting.

The root system of the rootstock is characterized by better development relative to other M.9 clones, yet it remains brittle, which makes the use of support for trees mandatory throughout the entire growing period. Features of the rootstock also include a tendency to form root suckers and resistance to fire blight typical for M.9.
