The variety presumably appeared in the first half of the 19th century in Sweden as a result of sowing seeds of the Kaniker variety. Since the mid-19th century, it has become widespread in Finland, where it demonstrated high adaptation to harsh climatic conditions.
Fruits of this variety are dessert-quality and intended for fresh consumption. The tree possesses pronounced pollen activity, which allows it to be used as a pollinator in amateur gardening. The variety is distinguished by its hardiness in northern climates.
