The variety is classified as an autumn type, with fruits ripening in early September. It is characterized by genetic resistance to Venturia inaequalis scab and an absence of visible symptoms when infected with Alternaria. It possesses good general winter hardiness, but shows weak resistance of generative organs to spring frosts.

The fruits are large, however, their taste qualities are rated as mediocre due to a high level of acidity. The variety has a short storage life and is prone to fruit rot infection. Due to these characteristics, the variety is considered more as a genetic resource for breeding programs than as a commercial variety.
