The tree has weak to moderate vigor, forming a spreading, compact crown. The fruits weigh 50–90 g and have a round or round-conical shape with white, juicy flesh. The fruit skin is golden-yellow, often with a red blush or stripes.

The variety is late-maturing, with harvesting taking place at the end of October. It has high productivity but may exhibit biennial bearing. The tree is winter-hardy and withstands frosts down to -20°C.

Petit Jaune is self-sterile and requires pollinator varieties. Regular pruning is required to maintain stable yields. In cider production, it is valued as a blending component, typically accounting for 5–10% of the total raw material volume.
