The variety is a result of folk selection and originated in Germany presumably in the 17th century. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and high adaptability to harsh climatic conditions.
The fruits are of medium size, have a conical, slightly ribbed shape, and a greenish-yellow ground color with a bright red marbled blush, often covered with a glaucous bloom. The flesh is cream-white, very firm, with a sweet-and-sour taste.
Harvest maturity occurs at the end of October. Due to their dense structure, the apples are suitable for long-term storage until June and are used both fresh and for processing into juices, ciders, and drying.
