The Dixie Red Delight variety is an apple tree with medium to large fruits that have red skin on a yellow background. The fruits possess a sweet, crisp, and juicy flavor with sharp, spicy, and aromatic notes. The plant is characterized by moderate vigor, high endurance to climatic conditions, and resistance to diseases. The variety belongs to late maturity groups.

In international trade standards, the name Red Delight is used as a synonym for the Roblos variety. This commercial variety of Dutch breeding was obtained by crossing the Septer and Cox's Orange Pippin varieties.
