The fruits of this variety have a pronounced red color and are characterized by crisp flesh. The variety is suitable for long-term storage.

A number of professional reports note that its importance in nursery production has declined over time and it has been displaced by other varieties. The name Red Passion is also found in the context of other red-fleshed apple breeding projects not related to this variety.
