The variety is a collection of clones of the original McIntosh variety, selected for the trait of more intense red fruit coloration. The trees are characterized as medium-sized, with a spreading crown and good winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -34°C.

Fruits of medium or large size have white or cream juicy flesh with a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is universal in use, however, the fruits are distinguished by a limited shelf life and are prone to rapid softening. Plants are sensitive to scab and fire blight.
