The variety is a stable apple mutation of the classic Rome Beauty variety. The tree is of medium vigor, branching well. At a young age, the crown is upright; as it enters fruiting, the branches become spreading under the weight of the fruit. Flowering is late, which reduces the risk of damage by spring frosts. The variety is partially self-fertile; for increased yield, pollinator varieties such as Golden Delicious, Jonathan, Granny Smith or Idared are recommended.

Fruits are large or very large, spherical in shape, covered with thick smooth skin of dark red color. The flesh is greenish-white or yellowish-white, dense, firm and moderately juicy, possessing a sweet-and-sour taste. Harvest maturity occurs in October. The variety is distinguished by a long storage period; fruits can be kept until April-May without loss of quality. The variety is sensitive to water deficit, which affects the metabolism of carbohydrates and antioxidants.
