The variety is a descendant of the traditional Asturian variety Reineta Encarnada. The fruits are medium to large in size and have a semi-acidic taste; ripening occurs in mid-October.

The plant possesses high resistance to scab and low susceptibility to powdery mildew, black rot, and moniliosis. The variety is characterized as promising for organic farming and is noted for the absence of pronounced biennial bearing.
