The variety is a product of folk selection and is traditionally used exclusively in cider production. It is considered one of the three key foundations for cidermaking in its region and is currently preserved in collections of genetic diversity of fruit crops in France.

The fruits of this variety are medium-sized with a dull skin. According to its characteristics, the variety belongs to the group of sweet cider apples, with a must density ranging from 1070 to 1080. The tree is characterized by late flowering.
