The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, reaching a height of 4 to 6 meters, and was historically used for roadside plantings. The variety is also used in pomiculture as a rootstock or as an intermediate component in grafting due to its hardiness.

The fruits are medium to small in size with a bluish-red color and firm, juicy flesh. Harvest and consumption maturity occur in November-December, and the fruits maintain their quality until April. The initially acidic taste of the fruits changes to a sweeter one as sugars accumulate during storage.

The plant is undemanding and adapts to various conditions, including elevated sites. With insufficient care or unfavorable site selection, the fruits may become smaller, and the tree may show a susceptibility to scab.
