The variety belongs to the rennet group and has small to medium-sized fruits of a round shape. The skin is dark red in color, and a characteristic brown russeting is often present. The fruit flesh is white or slightly yellowish, juicy, with a spicy nutty aroma.
Trees develop intensively in early growth with upward-directed branches; at maturity, the crown spreads outward. The variety is characterized as hardy and winter-hardy, withstanding frosts down to -28 °C. It enters the full fruiting phase late.
The fruits reach harvest maturity in mid-September, and consumer maturity from October to December. The variety is considered a good pollinator for other apple trees and is valued for its low maintenance.
