The variety «Руж Розе» is a late-winter crop with fruits weighing 200–400 g. The round-conical fruits have a deep red color with a glaucous bloom and white flesh with a pinkish tint. The flavor of the fruits is sweet and sour with an aroma of tea rose; keeping quality is high, and they store until the beginning of spring. The tree is of medium vigor with a rounded crown and enters into fruit-bearing in the 4th year.

The variety «Kissabel® Rouge» is distinguished by the unique red color of the flesh and skin and is used for processing. The old French variety «Binet Rouge» is a processing cider variety with small fruits of a bitter-sweet taste. The variety «Calville Rouge d'été» is classified as a dessert variety with white flesh and red spots under the skin.
