Variety description

The variety is a clonal mutation of Gala. The fruits have an intense red color or stripes on a yellow background; the flesh is yellowish, firm, and juicy; the taste is predominantly sweet with reduced acidity. The variety is intended for dessert consumption and possesses high, stable yields provided that ovaries are thinned.

The tree is characterized by moderate vigor and a canopy that is easy to manage. The fruits store well: in ordinary refrigerators until December, and in controlled atmosphere conditions until April. The variety is diploid and can be used as a pollinator for other apple varieties.

The variety shows susceptibility to apple canker, and also has medium vulnerability to scab and fire blight. Earlier breeding forms have been selected based on this variety.
