The Rusin d'Unvier variety is an autochthonous folk variety that has been cultivated for decades in the Italian region of Friuli. It is not a product of breeding and is currently preserved within the framework of programs for maintaining genetic biodiversity.

In terms of maturity, the variety belongs to the medium group, although the name indicates its winter classification. The fruits have a spherical shape and change color from yellow-green to red during the ripening process. The plant possesses increased tolerance to scab and powdery mildew compared to modern commercial varieties.

The chemical composition of the fruits of old varieties from this region is often characterized by a high content of polyphenols, vitamin C, and mineral salts. A detailed agronomic description of the crown type or tree vigor is absent in technical references, as the variety is not intended for industrial use.
