The variety originated in Saxony, presumably in the 19th century. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and forms a wide crown; it is recommended for cultivation as a standard tree. The variety is considered hardy and undemanding in terms of climate, however, in conditions of high humidity it may be susceptible to scab, and the fruits are prone to premature dropping. It requires the presence of pollinator varieties to obtain a harvest.
Harvesting is carried out in September–October; the consumption period for the fruits lasts from October to December or January. The fruits range from large to very large in size and have a flat-round or conical shape. The skin is thin, yellowish-green in color with a red blush or stripes on the sunny side. The yellowish-white flesh is firm, juicy and fine-grained, and possesses a balanced sweet-sour taste with a refreshing aroma.
