The variety is a spur sport (mutation) of the classic Red Delicious variety. The tree is characterized by compact growth and a spur type of fruiting, where the crop is formed on shortened fruit twigs (spurs), and fewer lateral shoots are formed than in standard trees.

Belongs to winter varieties. The medium or large-sized fruits have an intense red coloration, firm white flesh, and a sweet taste. The variety requires a pollinator and fruit thinning to ensure annual fruiting. The fruits are used fresh, in cooking, and for preservation.

The main difference from the original variety is precocity and a compact crown shape, which makes this clone suitable for intensive horticulture.
