Supporter 2 is a hybrid of M.9 and Malus micromalus MAKINO. In terms of growth vigor, the rootstock is classified as dwarfing, being at the level of the M.9 rootstock.

The plant is resistant to scab and is weakly affected by powdery mildew. The rootstock is well adapted to intensive orchard conditions, propagates easily, and produces little root suckering.

Varieties grafted onto this rootstock begin to bear fruit in the third year. The use of this rootstock promotes high tree productivity and allows for control over scion growth vigor, forming canopies that are convenient for maintenance.
