The tree forms a dense, spherical crown and is distinguished by longevity and high winter hardiness of the wood. The variety is also known by the synonyms Davidapfel, Ebners Taffetapfel and Taffetas Tardif.
The fruits have yellowish-green skin with a reddish blush and small dots. The flesh is white, juicy, firm, fine-grained, with a tart taste. The harvest is collected from late August through September; the fruits retain quality until January.
The variety is used as a culinary apple for making juices, baking and dessert consumption.
