The Tichonovskoje variety is distinguished by an increased accumulation of biologically active substances, the content of which is comparable to that of citrus fruits. In the 1960s–1970s, it demonstrated good productivity, close to the level of the Pepin shafrannyi variety.

The fruits of the variety are characterized by an attractive appearance and high taste qualities. In the climatic conditions of the Middle Urals, the plant was successfully cultivated in a prostrate form. The variety is associated with the activities of the I. V. Michurin Central Genetic Laboratory.
