The tree has medium vigor and is suitable for forming both low-stem and high-stem crowns. The variety is characterized by high hardiness. The fruits have a round shape, slightly depressed in the calyx area, and smooth skin.

The fruit flesh is white, moderately juicy and aromatic; the taste is characterized as tart-sour and spicy. Apples of this variety are used for fresh consumption as well as for making juice. The variety is often identified with the name Gustavs Dauerapfel.
