The variety has folk origins and is historically associated with the mountain regions of Sardinia. The name, translated from Sardinian, means "red cheek," which points to an intense pink or red blush covering up to 40% of the fruit surface. The fruits have a round, slightly flattened shape with thin, smooth, yellow skin.

The plant possesses medium vigor and a spreading crown shape. Fruiting occurs on both spurs and mixed branches. The variety is characterized by late flowering, medium productivity, and high adaptability to mountain climate conditions, including resistance to low temperatures and their fluctuations.
