Trees of the variety are usually very large, productivity is good, however, without fruit thinning, biennial bearing may be observed. The fruits are valued for their contribution to a balanced and refreshing cider taste.

The variety has high susceptibility to fire blight and is also prone to infestation by woolly apple aphid and red spider mite. It is an autochthonous variety approved by the Euskal Sagardoa Basque cider designation of origin system.
