The variety Weißer Kardinal is a synonym for the heirloom variety Geflammter Kardinal. The fruits are medium to large in size; their shape is often irregular and angular, with the fruit width always exceeding its height. The thin, smooth skin has a yellow ground color, with a characteristic red striped blush and speckling appearing on the sunny side.

The fruit flesh is greenish-white, loose, and very juicy. In terms of maturity, the variety is classified as an autumn variety; harvesting begins in September. The fruits have a refreshing wine-sweet taste and are highly valued as a culinary variety suitable for baking, juice production, and drying, as well as for fresh consumption.
