The variety was discovered as a chance seedling in the state of Virginia, USA. It is characterized by early ripening dates, where harvesting under US conditions can begin in the first week of August.

The fruits have a characteristic five-ribbed structure. The flesh is white with a greenish tint, firm, crisp, and juicy. The variety is intended primarily for fresh consumption.
