The deciduous tree reaches a height of 3–8 meters and has an oval or ovoid crown shape. Young leaves of a purple-red shade change color to bronze-green in summer and acquire an orange color in autumn. In May, the tree blooms profusely with large crimson-pink or purple-pink flowers.
The fruits are small, 1.5–2 cm in diameter, weighing about 20 g, have a dark red or purple-red color, and can remain on the branches until winter. The variety is resistant to wind and air pollution and tolerates frosts down to -35°C well. The plant shows resistance to scab but can be affected by powdery mildew.
The variety is intended exclusively for ornamental landscaping of parks, gardens, and urban alleys. The tree prefers fertile, well-drained, and moderately moist soils.
