Variety description

The variety is a hybrid created by interspecific hybridization using the wild species Nicotiana debneyi. The plant forms 19–20 leaves that mature gradually and are not prone to over-ripening. Upon drying, the raw material acquires a light yellow color, with up to 97% of the produce meeting quality classes I–III.
Wiwiana exhibits pronounced resistance to black root rot (Thielaviopsis basicola) and common strains of potato virus Y (PVY). The average yield of the crop is about 3 tons per hectare.
The variety is recommended for cultivation on medium-loamy and sandy-loamy soils with slight acidity. When grown on fertile soils, moderate application of nitrogen fertilizers is necessary.
