Variety description

10 August 2026

The Fiaschetti variety is not an independent variety in the broad sense and is genetically identical to the Buga variety, also known as Plominka or Tonda di Villa. This name is local and is used in a narrow geographical area of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.

The plant is used primarily for oil production. The variety is self-sterile and is characterized by moderate sensitivity to winter frosts. It is typical for the conditions of the Upper Adriatic, where the climate is on the border between Mediterranean and continental types.
