The plant reaches a height of 70–80 cm. The seeds (pods) are greenish-brown in color, bean-shaped, possess small teeth, and are smaller in size compared to common sainfoin (Onobrychis viciifolia).

The variety is used as a fodder crop and is an effective honey plant. A key agrotechnical advantage of the variety is its high drought tolerance and safety during livestock grazing, as it does not cause tympany.
