The variety was bred by the method of individual selection from the breeding stock. The plant possesses individual morphological characteristics typical for the Oriental poppy breeding group, including high ornamental value.

In commercial circulation, the name "Кабаре" also refers to the peony poppy (Papaver somniferum), which is an annual plant with a bush height of 60–80 cm and double flowers 10–12 cm in diameter in various shades.
