The Bellebeek variety is a hybrid of Populus deltoides, Populus trichocarpa, and Populus maximowiczii. It was specifically bred for use in bioenergy; however, due to the characteristics of the stem shape, the variety is not suitable for timber production.
The plant is characterized by good straight growth. The variety exhibits resistance to bacterial canker, has no pronounced susceptibility to Marssonina brunnea, and demonstrates tolerance to rust. It is capable of growing on any soil type.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
