The tree reaches a height of 15–25 meters with a crown width of 5–9 meters. It forms a single straight trunk with ascending branches. The leaves are large, elongated-ovate, leathery, dark green with a white underside, emitting a balsam fragrance when unfolding. In autumn, the foliage turns yellow. Flowering occurs in March with red male catkins; the variety does not produce seeds.
The variety is characterized by intensive wood growth at a young age. It prefers fertile, heavy, and moist soils. It exhibits resistance to Marssonina and bacterial canker, and is moderately resistant to rust. The tree is fairly wind-resistant, although it is not recommended for planting in areas with extremely strong winds or on the coast.
