The variety belongs to the group of Populus × canadensis hybrids. The tree has a straight trunk, a narrow pyramidal crown shape, relatively thin branches, and is characterized by infrequent fork development. Under nursery conditions, bud break occurs at the end of April, and growth cessation occurs in the third week of September.
The clone possesses high biomass productivity and excellent tolerance to Melampsora larici-populina rust infection. The variety is intended for the establishment of fast-growing species plantations for the purpose of obtaining timber and biomass, and is also used in scientific research.
The wood of this variety is in demand for the production of plywood and other timber products. The potential for using this poplar for the phytoextraction of heavy metals, specifically cadmium, from the soil has also been studied.
