The variety was obtained as a result of a controlled cross between P. ×canadensis Moench and P. ×generosa Henry and is known in registers under the breeding code 82-017. Phenotypically, the plant has a narrow crown shape and is similar in appearance to Populus ×canadensis.

This variety is a male clone characterized by high resistance to biotic factors, including pests and diseases. It was developed for forestry needs as a promising fast-growing variety for timber production.
