The variety belongs to the late-ripening group; the harvest period falls on August 5–10. The tree is characterized by medium to vigorous growth.

The fruits are globular in shape and weigh 50–60 g. The skin is yellow-orange, covered with a pinkish-red mottled blush on 60–80% of the surface. The fruits possess good transportability and marketability.

In scientific literature, the variety is more often referred to under the name Boucherand. Mentions of the surname Boutard in databases are often associated with the name of a genetics researcher, not the name of the variety itself.
